An ancient vessel from Peru

Look at a clay vessel featuring a thorny oyster, made over two thousand years ago in Peru in the Cupisnique cultural tradition. This earthenware vessel was created between 800 and 200 BCE. Vessels like this are often found in elite burials, suggesting they communicated value and status.
