Elizabeth I, Queen of England

The last Turdor monarch (1533–1603; ruled 1558–1603)

The daughter of King Henry VIII and Enne Boleyn, Elizabeth proved to be an effective ruler. She was the longest reigning monarch of the Tudor dynasty.

Queen Elizabeth I of England knew the importance of a good public image. Like other persons of power, she used clothing and objects to communicate her special status. Spectacular clothing, jewels, and a scepter were just some of the regalia that confirmed her power as queen.
